STEP, the Fox Searchlight Documentary, is the story of Baltimore’s most passionate STEP team; doing their best to keep their heads up in the light of real life issues.
One student says, “I could really relate to it. What you see in the movie is what happens every day in the average household in Baltimore.” Directed by Baltimore native, Amanda Lipitz, STEP follows high-school seniors Blessin, Cori, Tayla as they are doing everything they can to get into college and bring the STEP team to the championship.
When the world seems to work against them, they STEP. Empowered by their teachers, teammates, counselors, coaches and families, they are pushed to the limits and see how much they can handle. The young womens’ courage, sisterhood and perseverance will have you at the edge of your seat the entire time!
Kaite Rose was at the world premier, right here in Baltimore! After she wiped her face off from weeping the entire time, she joined the cast for the after party! Throughout the night, the entire STEP team, past and present, and some enthusiastic parents’, broke out into STEP routines! Kaite Rose caught up with the stars of the show!
