Are Yoga Pants Killing The Fashion Industry?


Athlesiure, the term for a blend of athletic and casual wear, is a booming industry.

According to Business insider, $45.9 billion dollars worth of athleisure merchandise was sold in 2016, an 11% increase from the previous year.

As fashion rules have changed, retailers who adapted their offerings have a stronger foothold on the market share.

With over 3500 stores expected to close in 2017, including some Macy’s, Payless, and Sears locations, the shifting landscape is changing fashion as we know it.
