BabyCenter.com just released its lists of the most popular baby names for 2016.

The top 10 girls’ names for the year are:

1. Sophia

2. Emma

3. Olivia

4. Ava

5. Mia

6. Isabella

7. Riley

8. Aria

9. Zoe

10. Charlotte

 

The top 10 boys’ names are:

1. Jackson

2. Aiden

3. Lucas

4. Liam

5. Noah

6. Ethan

7. Mason

8. Caden

9. Oliver

10. Elijah

The boys’ name that had the biggest jump this year was Mateo: it went from 85th last year to 55th this year.  The girls’ name with the biggest jump was Peyton: it went from 84th last year to 41st this year.

And finally, they also found the election influenced some baby names.  Hillary was 64% more popular and Donald was only 5% more popular, but Ivanka jumped up 39%.

Here are the 100 most popular names for both genders.
