Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus texted his son the morning after the November 8th election, and shared what he wrote on Twitter today (November 10th). The message was “as much for myself as for him,” he wrote.

“I know we’re all upset after the election last night. I know I sure am. I hope you’re not disheartened. Take this sense of frustration and anger and use it for something good,” Hoppus began, texting that change is just around the corner and the next generation will be the one to usher it in. He added, “Your generation is the one who can make the world a better place.”

Hoppus concluded, “Remember how much you count as a person and how much positive change you can affect in the world.”
