Here’s the secret to a good first date, according to a new study from the University of Chicago:

Let the other person order their food first, and even if it sounds terrible, order the exact same thing.

The study, published by the Society for Consumer Psychology, found that when people on first dates ordered the same food, it instantly built trust and camaraderie, and increases the odds that they’ll go on a second date.

And you can use that trick in other scenarios, too,  like if you’re out to a business lunch with someone you want to impress, or when you’re meeting your significant other’s parents for the first time.
