Why am I even doing this???  I never even collected the Pokemon cards!  I guess because my kids do…well now I’ve allowed Google to control my cyber life!!!!

Everyone is talking about this thing…so I had to see what it was all about:

Then Poke-Dan called in and tried to help…key word, tried!

No matter how hard I looked…no go!

Finally Jordan called in from Baltimore and new what was up!

So finally I caught 2…and leveled up!

Of course this phenomenon is too good to be true.  Sure it’s a free app to download but fear the cursed words “in app purchases”, hate that!  Then I hear for IOS users…it’s not the most secure app to have on your device….check this out…in order to play, you have to grant the game “FULL ACCESS” to your Google account.  Do you realize what that means?  Read this from the official Google Account Permissions page:
Full account access

When you grant full account access, the application can see and modify nearly all information in your Google Account (but it can’t change your password, delete your account, or pay with Google Wallet on your behalf).

Certain Google applications may be listed under full account access. For example, you might see that the Google Maps application you downloaded for your iPhone has full account access.

This “Full account access” privilege should only be granted to applications you fully trust, and which are installed on your personal computer, phone, or tablet.

If you’ve granted full account access to an app you don’t trust or recognize, we recommend that you revoke this permission by clicking the Revoke access button.”

Pokemon Go is fun…but it’s far from perfect.  People have been robbed, one discovered a dead body and others have hurt themselves physically while playing!  Definitely do your homework.  It also has been known to eat up your data and battery, see:

So…there’s the short of a very long trend!  We’ll see if Pokemon Go actually can go more than 2 weeks.  Upon completion of this blog…I’m deleting it from my I-phone until security issues are addressed.  So good luck, have fun and be safe!!!!
